There have probably been more articles and talk about this subject than we will ever be able to read, but I would like to throw my two cents in, and I think what I have to say may surprise some of you, especially my wife.

When we think of the work force, we usually always think of the male figure. The men have dominated over the women in this area for decades. The man was always looked at as the provider and protector of his home and his family. Women were the care takers and the ones who made the house a home to live in.
When I grew up, my mom was always the one who greeted us as we came home from school. Later my dad would make his way from his office and that’s how it was.

Well the financial landscape has changed dramatically since that time. Women have made great strides in the market place. There are women who are CEO’s and hold high positions in some of the top companies in the world. It has been a huge struggle and the battle is not over. The corporate, 9 to 5 job world, is a struggle for anybody, especially for women, in today’s economy.

Their pay scale is usually not on the same level as their male counterparts. They usually have a family, waiting at home, that still has to be taken care of. They are more likely to be overlooked for that new promotion, simply because of their gender.

What about the network marketing arena? What about between business owners and network marketers? Is the playing field the same for both parties?

Well for one, you are a business owner when you are in a network marketing business. It’s your business and you are the boss. It grows as you put forth your effort, time, and resources. Nobody is trying to get your job and there are no promotions that you are seeking, except to help others in your organization grow their businesses as well.

As with other businesses, you are still responsible for the needs and cares of your family and home, but because you are the boss, you make your business around your schedule. You can go to the bathroom, take a vacation, or take the afternoon off and go and see your son or daughter play that soccer game. Being the boss is an incredible benefit of having your own business.

Time is no longer master over you as in the 9 to 5 job, where you exchange your time for a paycheck. When you own your own business all that changes.

The other advantage of being a business owner, in the network marketing industry, is leveraging the efforts of others in your organization, to produce a residual stream of income. That is, income that comes in every single month, on the work and efforts of you and your organization.

You see, in the 9 to 5 job world, its dog eat dog. You have to be on your guard every single moment, or you could get eaten and hurt by someone else trying to move up the ladder. If you lose your job, you and your entire family pay the price.

In being a business owner you are creating multiple streams of income, and if one stream gets cut off, or runs dry, you have others that will keep you going. It’s not going to change your life style as if you lost your 9 to 5 job. Just take a look around you at this struggling economy that we are in today. Many people have lost their one and only stream of income and they are hurting real bad right now.

Is there any advantage to being a man or women in this type of atmosphere? Women vs Men in Network Marketing – Who comes Out on Top?

Neither. It is a level playing field for all! It’s the only place where true cooperation and working for the team, benefits all. I want to encourage my organization and help them achieve their goals, because everyone wins when that happens. You will never find this in the corporate world or any 9 to 5 job.

Some of the most successful business owners have been women.

1. Mary Kay Ash – Mary Kay Cosmetics
2. Debbie Fields – Mrs. Fields Cookies
3. Estee Lauder – Estee Lauder Cosmetics
4. Dani Johnson – Entrepreneur and business owner
5. Martha Stewart – Entrepreneur, Media personality and billionaire Lifestyle guide.
6. Oprah Winfrey – Billionaire Talk Show Host and Actress.

Only by becoming a business owner can you become financially free and gain time freedom. Working for someone else, from 9 to 5, and putting all your eggs in one basket, will never make you free. Whether you’re a women or a man, network marketing is the only avenue that affords you this opportunity.

It’s all up to you. Work for the man and be strapped and under his control, or, work for yourself and gain financial freedom and the time to do what you want to do, and when you want to do it.

By Gil Effron

Growing up in marketing, advertising, and direct mail, too often I saw business owners load their guns with a single, magical marketing bullet — a silver bullet — and pull the trigger.

They hoped and believed — erroneously — that they could deploy a single message that would bring them instant fame and fortune. What they failed to do was to rely on two very helpful friends in marketing: repetition and frequency. Instead of thinking in terms of a campaign, they took what they considered to be their best shot.

I certainly can relate to business owners who panic when the economy isn’t cooperating and business is bad. I can also empathize with their need to deploy that single, magical marketing bullet. But in all honesty, a single reactive message or tactic cannot and will not replace proactive strategic marketing planning.

So what do you do when you need a silver bullet and don’t feel you have the time to sit down and do some serious planning or the resources to implement an expansive campaign?

First, focus on customers and clients you are serving now and/or have served within the past several years. The old adage still holds true that it’s easier to sell more to someone with whom you have an established relationship than to create a new relationship. Contact those customers and clients. Do it as personally as you can. Don’t do it as a sales call, but to chat about business, challenges, threats, and opportunities. Certainly feel free to ask for referrals.

Second, look at your client attraction process. If it isn’t pulling as well as it has in the past, that’s a sign that it needs to change. The change may involve the message itself and/or the offer. But — and this is more of an issue today than ever — you may be delivering that message through the wrong channels. Thanks to social media, we have more channels than ever to choose from. Depending on your business, pick one, create a plan, and get some help to keep messages flowing to an ever-expanding target market.

Don’t knock social media because you think it is beyond your means, time, or abilities. With one of my clients, for example, we created a simple way to use LinkedIn’s InMail to generate a healthy flow of contacts and leads. This process included searching people who met our client’s criteria and sending them a short email that did nothing more than invite an open conversation about how our client and they could work together.

Third, take a look at your website. If your website is not current… if it does not fully represent and accurately reflect your business as it is today… then you have a problem that needs to be fixed. Regardless of what business or market segment you are in, consumers turn to the Internet to learn more about a company, to compare, and to consider their options before taking their next step.

In my opinion, it is better to have a small website that IS current and reflective of where you are today than a dinosaur that isn’t doing you any good. With our clients, for example, we’re solving outdated website problems like this through WordPress and simple templates that can be easily and quickly personalized. The best part is the speed and ease with which you can create new current copy and plug it into the WordPress template. What used to take many months can be accomplished in a matter of weeks or even days.

While there are no magical marketing bullets or silver bullets, there are small, relatively inexpensive steps that any business can take to gain more traction and improve their results.

Creative email marketing

You can’t just announce the same things over and over again to your community, which will get bored of the tired old things you have to say. To spice up your email marketing, here are a few ways for you to get creative with the content in your email campaigns to add value to your customer and keep them engaged with your brand.

1. Market other products

This sounds crazy that you’d market anything other than your own product in your email blasts, and this sounds even crazier that you wouldn’t be marketing other products as part of a paid advertising thing to generate more revenue. In fact, you market other products that you don’t offer, but might be of interest to your community because you want to give them some value and show them some goodwill. Rather than constantly trying to sell them your product, you can help them in discovering new, awesome products they may want to buy, and if they think those products are as awesome as you thought, they’ll be thankful you recommended those things in the first place.

2. Cross-sell your own products

Now here’s where the savvy businessperson comes to play, when you send an email out to your customers about products that compliment their last purchase because since they just bought the Toilet Seat 9100, they will probably want to buy the Toilet Scrubber 5000 and the Toilet Cleaner Detergent 2300. You’re making sure your customers are fully set in their toilet needs because you know they just purchased a new toilet and may need these extra products.

3. Do a flash sale or limited time offer

Get generous. These email subscribers of yours have been generous with their time and inbox over the past few weeks or past few months, so be thankful they’ve become an interested part of your community with a really exclusive offer that’s time sensitive showing how limited the offer really is, and how much your community actually means to you. When you give them an offer they can’t refuse, they just have to buy, and if they missed the deal, you’ll be sure they’ll be better tuned into your email blasts to make sure they don’t miss it next time.

4. Survey your customers

When you have a large sample of people already interested in your business and product, why not leverage them to learn more about them and how you could better serve them? Send out a fun survey to learn more about their purchasing behaviors, their likes and dislikes, how you can improve as a business to better serve them, and so forth. Then, give them something special at the end of the survey as a thank you like a small gift card, a special discount on a future purchase, or even something as simple as free shipping for their next order.

Niche marketing is quick - do you want to find out just how? Get some totally free and effective niche internet marketing strategies. Get three niche internet marketing tactics correct here which are tested to perform!

Niche marketing is perhaps the most commonly used approach by the majority of smaller online marketers on the net. This approach of targeting smaller sub-markets reflects the effort to be able to effectively compete online. The rest of this article will be able niche marketing tips and approaches you can use.

If you do not have a clear idea of a niche, then you have to make it clear or else walk away from it. We are definitely talking about your ability to identify and define the niche you are involved with. The reason we are making such a point about it is that you have to understand a niche and the people in it. Each niche has specific language that must be used when talking to them. Now, unless you know the problems these companies are facing and the kind of solutions they are looking for, you won’t be able to create the perfect solution for them! So that is why we are beating this point to death – it is that important.

Hopefully you realize the importance of using your own website or blog when you engage in niche marketing. Your niche marketing website is like your headquarters for operating within any niche, and you simply need to have one. What that means is your site needs to be about that niche and nothing else. Do not even think about combining two separate niches into one site, that simply will spell disaster and failure.

Each website or blog within a single niche is like a dedicated shrine to the people in that niche. Don’t have a site that talks about ten different things or has all the niches scattered around it. Each of your niche websites will be about one particular theme and no more than one.

Last but not the least; competition is on the rise in every industry, which is leading to market saturation. That is why advertising will never die because people and companies are trying to compete against each other. Because of that situation, that is why niche marketing is so attractive and works so well. You can communicate more effectively with a niche market because it is so much more personal.

In conclusion, from the above article we come to understand how niche marketing can be done effectively and how it can help you boost your own business. Do not let setbacks or frustration hinder your efforts, and simply keep moving forward no matter what happens. Persistence is key to all success, along with a few other things – but more people quit and give up which guarantees they will never succeed in business.
